Wrexham Home Guard defend a bridge 1940.

With the threat of invasion looming larger day by day in 1940, thousands flocked to enlist in the Home Guard across Wrexham and Flintshire. One of the oldest recruits was an 86 year old former Yeomantry quartermaster from Wrexham who insisted that his name be put down for the Home Guard. The picture shows Wrexham Home Guard defending a bridge during a mock invasion.
