FUNERAL OF MR. SAMUEL ELLIS. Our obituary of last week contained the death of Mr Samuel Ellis, Rhosddu, who died October 21st, in the sixty-fourth year of his age. The deceased was well known in temperance circles as a warm and ardent supporter of the cause he had espoused. The funeral took place on Monday last, and was numerously attended by representatives of the various temperance organisations and by his fellow workmen. The Rechabite Order, of which deceased was a prominent member, mustered in good force, Mr Ellis up to the time of his death being Chief Ruler and a trustee of “Cambria’s Glory Tent,” he having been a member of the same nearly 30 years, and we believe this is the first death in the Tent (which numbers considerably over 100 members) for the last four or five years. The remains were interred in the pretty little cemetery on Ruabon- road, the Vicar officiating, and at the close of the ceremony spoke a few appropriate words referring to the special good qualities of the deceased and urging ail present to emulate his example.

Sarah also died in the same street and was buried with Samuel on 5 April 1884, she was aged 67.
