Margaret Wynn NEWITT 1867 – 1918

MARGARET WYNN LLOYD c 1867 – 1918

Margaret Wynn Lloyd was born about 1867 in Wrexham, she was the youngest daughter of William Lloyd who was a saddler and harness maker in the town. William was born in Wrexham, but her mother Sarah was from Oswestry. William was living on Market Street, then moved to 17 Charles Street, not far from the Hat Inn. Margaret was working as a dressmaker at the age of 16, and her elder brother William was in the same trade as his father. The family were still there in 1891 and the following year a marriage announcement was published.

May 17th, at the Parish Church. Wrexham, by the Rev W. Vaughan-Jones curate, William Albert, second son of Charles Newitt, Shrewsbury, to Margaret Wynn, youngest daughter of William Lloyd, saddler, Wrexham.

William Albert was born in Shrewsbury,  and by  1901 they are at the barracks in Wrexham  where William Albert was a  Colour Sergeant in the Royal Welsh Fusiliers, they have two children Elsie May aged  and her 11 month old  brother William.

Ten years later they are still in the barracks, William Albert is now on an army pension, but is working there as canteen steward, by this time they have another two children, Violet Margaret aged 7 and Percival Charles aged 6.  They had no more known children.

Margaret Wynn Newitt died at Brightside, Grosvenor Road on 10 April 1918 aged 51.

She left effects of £6354 5s 3d. Probate to William Albert Newitt, army pensioner.

The family moved away to Lancashire, and in 1939 he is found in Liverpool, working as an assistant registrar, he is living with his daughter Violet Margaret who has married George Gibson. William Albert died late in 1952 in Liverpool in 1952.

Margaret is alone in her grave and no other Newitt`s are buried in Wrexham Cemetery.
