Ladies of the Lodge Knitting for the Troops 1940
Some of the faces named by members of the Facebook Group, Memories of the Village of Lodge.
(Sue Richards) 1st lady on the right, standing against the wall, is May Richards, wife of Bill and mother of Owen (husband of Sue Richards). If this is from christmas 1972 then she had recently become a grandmother.
(Sue Richards) 4th lady from right on back row is Eva Jones, sister of Nora, Hilda & Philip.
(Andrew Richards) 5th person along is Mari Powell. I also recognise the lady 10th along as used to deliver a paper to her. Want to say Nancy the Farm! Isn’t Mr and Mrs Howells on here too?
(Jackie Hill) I may be wrong but is that Rosemary Lettsome on the back row on left between two gents? I recognise Marie Powell. Me Janet and Carol Pugh practiced singing “Sisters” (Beverley Sisters) for a concert for the elderly! Hey those were the days! Simple stuff but it was great!
(June Wilkins) Margaret Parry nee Wynn. Born Lodge, is front row on the left.
