Grove Park Boys’ Grammar school 1st XI Cricket Team 1968

This year (1968) the First XI enjoyed a generally successful season, losing only one of its twelve matches. Fine victories were obtained over Lindisfarne College, King’s School Chester, and the Old Wrexhamians, while it is worth noting that the only times the School appeared in danger of defeat were in games played on surfaces other than grass. The success of the side was hardly surprising since it was a well balanced one, drawing upon the ability of several experienced players combined with some talented newcomers. S. P. Barrett, D. V. Owen, A. G. Denyer, B. T. Williams and J. R. Owen served the School and County sides well, while G. Pritchard promised much for the future.
