Froncysyllte Fountain War Memorial
Froncysyllte Fountain War Memorial

The Boer War monument, a drinking fountain, stands beside the main Holyhead Road, near St. David’s Church. It was erected, by public subscription, in 1909 to commemorate two soldiers who died in the Boer War, and unveiled on 29 October 1910. The memorial was moved to its present location in 1996, and at that time, two stone war memorial tablets for the First and Second World Wars were incorporated into it.  These tablets were from the local Methodist Chapel, which had been demolished.

The main memorial stands in the grounds of St. David’s Church and commemorates those who died in World War I and World War II.

Those commemorated on Froncysyllte War Memorial.
